Overview

A short 3 day trip in the beautiful coffee region of Colombia. Walking in the Valle De Cocora where you will view the largest palm trees in the world. Horse riding around the famous Salento known for its colorful building and picturesque coffee scenery and learn the process of coffee and understand why Colombian coffee is the best in the world!

Day 01: Airport transfer to Salento, afternoon horse ride to Santa Rita.

Collected from the airport in Periera or Armenia and driven to Salento, set amid gorgeous green mountains, this small town survives on coffee production, trout farming and tourists, the last drawn by its quaint streets, typical paisa architecture and its proximity to the spectacular Valle de Cocora. It was founded in 1850, and is one of the oldest towns in Quindío. In the afternoon you will head out on a horse ride to the beautiful Santa Rita waterfall passing beautiful scenery and abandoned tunnels and have the chance to dive into its refreshing clear waters. In the evening we have organized a meal in a traditional restaurant in the area.

Day 02: Trip to Valle de cocoa with a private guide.

Catching a Willy's (jeep) from the plaza for a day trip to Valle del Cocora with a private guide. Valle del Cocora is home to the largest palm in the world (up to 60m tall) which is known as Colombia's national tree. Set amid the misty green hills, they are breath-taking to behold. There are many options to explore this beautiful area depending on preference, the most popular is hike the 5-hour circuit, this can be cut shorter depending on fitness levels. Afternoon free to enjoy the streets of Salento and the numerous artisanal shops. In the evening you will dine in a traditional Colombian restaurant.

Day 03: Coffee plantation tour, lunch in Finlandia before heading to the airport.

Visiting a coffee plantation close to Salento - where you can view the process of harvesting and processing the pure and typical Colombian coffee. Enjoy the smell and flavor of the coffee toast with the beautiful scenery in the background. You will walk around the whole plantation and have an in-depth description by an English guide. Afterward, you will head to the charming town of Filandia for lunch and to view the vista point before heading onto the airport.
