Overview

 

This 4 day trip around the coffee region is perfect for families that are looking to experience the best things the coffee region has to offer while travelling in a comfortable, kid friendly environment. Walk in the cocora valley  where you will view the largest palm trees in the world, be submerged in the learning process of coffee from one of the best places in the world to do it, visiting the mariposario , visiting the largest biopark of south America and the national coffee park. 

 

Day 01: Airport pick up from the airport – visit to Ukumari biopark 

 

Collected from the airport in Pereira, capital Risaralda. The city was founded in 1863 and is the  second most populated city from paisa roots after Medellin. Is located in the center of “gold triangle” connecting the trade of most important cities in the country: Bogota, Medellin and Cali.

 

Is home to Ukumari, the biggest biopark in South America, where you can see and learn from the vast wildlife like lions, elephants and giraffes, hippos , deers, monkeys, birds. This place is also works as conservation and rescue centre. 

 

Transfer back to the hotel and dinner is included on this day

Day 02: Enjoy the National Coffee Park 

 

Collected from the hotel in the morning heading towards The national coffee park. This themed park is more than coffee, this day will be filled with excitement and fun with roller coaster, rapids, karts, and an outstanding cultural performance  around coffee with lots of dance and fun. 

 

This tour can take the whole day, but there driving service will always be available if and early transfer to the hotel is needed. Rest of the afternoon free to enjoy the hotel and the wonderfull tropical weather of this area. In the evening you will dine in a traditional Colombian restaurant.

Day 03: Butterfly Sanctuary – 2h walk circuit Cocora Valley

 

Collected from the hotel in the morning going to Calarca botanical garden. Enjoy a guided tour of 183 species of butterflies, 210 of the 254 species of palms known in Colombia, birds and heliconias. Afterwards you will be transferred to the cocora valley for a 2h circuit is home to the largest palm in the world (up to 60m tall) which is known as Colombia's national tree. Set amid the misty green hills, they are breath-taking to behold.

 

This day concludes by  going back to salento from cocora valley to check in the hotel and enjoy the rest of the afternoon free.

Day 04: Coffee PLANTATION – TAKE IN FINAL VIEWS

Collected from the hotel to head to a coffee plantation. where you can view the process of harvesting and processing the pure and typical Colombian coffee. You will walk around the whole plantation and have an in-depth description by an English guide. 

Afterwads  you will go back to town to take final views and charming feel of this magical place before getting picked up for a transfer back to the airport. End of our services.
